Last week.....

Well, I'm glad it's a new week! Last week started off by me having some sort of weird flu. I was in bed all last Monday. I couldn't even get myself up out of bed to take care of the kids. Thank god for Chris and my mom. I felt bad, and wanted to get up and do something, anything, but I just couldn't. Tuesday I woke feeling better, achy and still exhausted, but at least I finally felt like I wasn't going to die. One great thing about the flu though is it definitely makes you lose weight. I lost 3 lbs in just one day. Awesome! I guess that's what happens when you throw up, and then just eat one piece of dry toast in 24 hours. Too bad I couldn't live on one piece of toast a day, I would lose 30 lbs in no time! But, guess that's not realistic.

I'm still sticking to my 1000 calorie a day diet, sometimes I go over just a tad, but mostly I am being really good. Got on the scale this morning and I've lost a total of 9 lbs. So excited!

Chad also came down with a little flu bug, poor little guy projectiled everywhere, even got in the cupboard that was half open, talk about gross! But, at least it was baby puke, and not big people puke :) He's also getting his first tooth. It's pretty much all the way through, yay! My little boy is growing up so fast. He's almost crawling, he can make his way across the floor, he is very determined. He just needs to figure out how to lift his hands while moving his knees. He'll get it in no time.

Madison I think started the whole flu bug. But she didn't get sick, just had the runs for a few days, and wasn't her spunky usual self. But she's back to running all over the place, bouncing off the walls, and being the sweet little goof ball that I love.

I'm working a few days this week. Chris has started contracting on his own, no longer works for anyone, which in a way is great because he can pick his hours, and hopefully eventually start making the big bucks :) Downside of it is it takes some time to build up your clientel, which is why I've been working lately, on the days he doesn't have work, I go in. I've been missing the kids terribly during the day, but I have to go, we can't both sit home (unfortunately). It's expensive to advertise, so right now we're just advertising on Craigs List. He's gotten a few calls, done a few bids, and so far has gotten one job out of it. Keep your fingers crossed that more work will come soon. Problem is, people aren't re-financing their homes right now, which means people aren't doing any kind of home improvements. But, I know it won't be forever. Trying to stay positive.

No more diapers for Maddie!!!!

Well, it's official, Madison is potty trained! I knew it was true when we went to the grocery store the other night. I put on a pull-up because we were leaving the house. Halfway through our grocery shopping, she said "Momma, let's go poop!" Agh, poop of all things! I know I shouldn't have told her this, but I said if she couldn't hold it that it was ok to go in her diaper. Only because I was dreading the dirty public bathroom. She looked at me a little confused and said "ok momma". Then I thought to myself, gosh, I shouldn't have said that, it probably really confused her. Then she looked up at me and said "No momma, lets go poop in the potty!" So, I said, ok, let's go find the bathroom. So, we found the bathroom, and I put toilet paper over the toilet and a seat protector, Maddie was laughing so hard, it was pretty funny. So, I put her up on the toilet and held on to her for dear life, because those toilets are huge! She went poo, and was so excited she went in the big potty. She ran out and ran up to Chris and said "Dadda, I did it!!!" So we let her pick out something from the store for being so good. She picked out PEZ, of course it had to be candy :) Little stinker!

My diet "officially" starts today!

I was suppose to start my diet on January 1st. Well, for some reason, I just couldn't get in the right frame of mind to do so. First of all, I didn't have the right food, had to go shopping to buy everything good for me. Chris and my mom both eat fast food a lot, and my mom is always buying sweets. So, this house is nothing but one big temptation! Everywhere you look, there's either cookies, or chips or chocolate, cake, agh! So, finally I went to the store last night and bought a bunch of TV Dinners, 100 calorie pac's, diet coke, and lowfat wheat thins. I didn't buy any vege's, just apples. Easy stuff. So, I figure if I eat a bowl of special K for breakfast, a snack (100 calorie pak), a smart ones (weight watcher tv dinner) for lunch, another snack, a smart ones for dinner, and then one more snack, that will only total up to 1000 calories a day. So, I'm going to try it for one week. I have to lose weight by the end of April. I'm in a wedding, and my dress fits, but it could fit even better if I lost a little more weight. Now, if only I could fit some exersice into my daily routine I'd be set.

Maddie and Chad

When I was looking back at Maddie's baby pictures, I realized how much they really do look alike. Only difference is that Chad has more hair then Maddie did. So stinkin cute!

CHAD 4 MONTHS OLD

Maddie

It was so easy to potty train Maddie. She hasn't had any accidents in days. Even in the morning when she wakes up, she runs to the potty. I can't believe how fast she has grown up. Sometimes I just look at her, and I wonder where the time has gone. Seems like just yesterday we brought her home.

I was looking back at pic's of her, and she's no longer a baby anymore.

I'm so proud of her, with everything she does. She amazes me every day with new things.

My little rocker!

I finally uploaded a video of Chad rocking back and forth in his crib. This morning I went in to get him and he was up and so excited to see me.

Chad's 6 month check-up!

Today I took Chad to the Dr. for his 6 month check-up. He weighed in at 18.14 lbs, and he's 28 1/2 inches. (75th percentile for weight and 95th for height). He's a BIG BOY! He had to get 3 shots, which is never fun. He took the first one pretty well, but the 2nd one, he just screamed, broke my little heart. Maddie decided to stay home with grandma and not go to the dr. with Chad. Last time, she got an unexpected flue shot, so she is a little leary about the dr's office now.

Update on Maddie's potty training..... still no accidents. Yipeeeeee!

I'm so proud!!

Well, one of my New Years resolutions was to get Maddie potty trained. Starting this week, we have been putting her in big girl undies. We only have been putting a diaper on her at nap times and to go to sleep at night. We keep asking her if she has to go potty, and she says no, but then we take her to the pot, and she'll go. So, by today, I finally think she's got it! She finally went poo in the potty, this has been her biggest challenge yet. She's been doing great going pee, with a few little accidents here and there (none today), but today she actually came up to me and said she had to go poo! I ran her to the potty, and she actually went. I got tears in my eyes I was so proud of her! Kinda silly, but I can't help it. She's growing so fast, way too fast for me. I am happy though to only have to buy diapers for Chad now, phew!

Chad's first big belly laugh!

Happy 2008!

Maddie was so excited to bang the pots and pans at midnight! Here's a cute video clip of it. Chad slept through everything, fireworks and all!
